In a historic moment for New Zealand, the Black Caps completed a stunning 3-0 whitewash against Team India in the Test series. The final Test, held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, saw New Zealand clinch a 25-run victory.

Defending 147, New Zealand bowls out India for 121

India, who were bowled out for a paltry 113 runs in their first innings, faced a challenging target of 147 runs in the second innings. Despite a valiant effort from Rishabh Pant, who scored a quickfire 64, the Indian batting lineup collapsed, with Ajaz Patel wreaking havoc with the ball. The Kiwi spinner picked up six wickets in the second essay, finishing the game with an impressive match haul of 11 wickets. India got all out for 121 in their second innings, failing to avoid a series sweep.

This series defeat marks a significant setback for India’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 campaign. The team will now need to win at least four of their remaining five Test matches to have a chance of qualifying for the final.

New Zealand’s historic series win has been widely celebrated, with current and former cricketers praising their exceptional performance in Indian conditions.
