A momentous record has been created by the U-23 team of Uttar Pradesh. In the Under-23 State-A Trophy, UP’s team managed to defeat Vadodara by chasing down a total of 407 runs on their home ground. Sameer Rizvi was the centre of attraction from the squad with a double-ton followed by an unbeaten 96-run knock from Shoaib Siddiqui to build a partnership of 296 runs. 3) A determined Andhra chased down 384 against Goa:
A staggering effort from Andhra Pradesh in the 2011-12 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy resulted in a historic 4-wicket win for the historic side. After winning the toss, Goa elected to bat first. They went on to dominate Andhra bowlers with a storming 139-run knock from Rohit Asnodkar. Important contributions from Reagan Pinto, Shadab Jakati and Robin D’Souza led Goa to a huge total of 383/7. In response, the Andhra openers provided their team with a solid opening partnership of 122 runs. Following which centuries from Venugopal Rao and AG Pradeep enabled Andhra to achieve the total in 48.4 overs.

A few days ago, the Bengal’s women team chased down a 390 runs total put up by Haryana in Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2024 at the Niranjan Shah Stadium Ground C in Rajkot. This was the highest successful run chase in domestic women’s cricket beating the previous record set by Northern Districts against Canterbury in 2019 when they chased down 309 in New Zealand’s domestic tournament. The star of Bengal’s record run chase was Tanushree Sarkar who scored an impeccable 113 off 83 balls to lead her team to a historic triumph.

Star-studded by Sameer Rizvi’s unbeaten double century, the UP squad chased down a target of a mammoth 407 runs set by the home team. Continuing his impeccable domestic form, Rizvi became the first Indian batter to score two double centuries in Men’s U23 State A Trophy. The youngster had earlier scored a 201-run knock off 97 deliveries against Tripura at the Kotambi B Ground earlier this week.
