The inaugural season of the Big Cricket League (BCL T20) is all set to commence on Thursday, December 12, at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat, Gujarat. The 2024 edition of the tournament will see six teams battling it out in a total of 18 matches, promising exciting cricket action for fans across the country.
BCL T20 2024: Participating teams and the format of the competition
The participating teams include the MP Tigers, Mumbai Marines, Northern Challengers, Rajasthan Regals, Southern Spartans and UP Brij Stars. Squad of each team has been carefully selected, featuring up to 18 players comprising six former international stars, six ex-Indian first-class cricketers and 10 promising youngsters.
The league will follow a single round-robin format, where each team will face off against the other five once. At the conclusion of the league stage, the top four teams in the standings will advance to the semi-finals. The two victorious teams from the semi-finals will then compete in the grand finale, scheduled for Sunday, December 22.
With a blend of experienced veterans like Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, TM Dilshan, Imran Tahir, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan among others, the BCL T20 promises to deliver thrilling cricketing moments as the teams vie for a coveted title.
