The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the 15-member squad that will represent Pakistan in the upcoming ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, scheduled to commence in Malaysia from January 18 to February 2, 2025. This announcement marks a significant step for Pakistan’s women’s cricket, aiming to make a mark on the international stage following their commendable performance in the inaugural tournament in 2023.

Komal Khan to lead Pakistan’s U19 Women’s squad

Leading the squad is the dynamic wicketkeeper-batter Komal Khan, who has been entrusted with the captaincy. Her vice-captain, Zoofishan Ayyaz, also brings leadership experience, having captained the team in the recent U19 Asia Cup. The team selection reflects a blend of experience and emerging talent, with several players from the previous tournament making their way back into the squad.

Training camp set for December to January in Karachi

The squad’s preparation includes a rigorous training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi, set from December 31 to January 9, 2025. This camp is crucial for fine-tuning strategies, enhancing fitness, and building team cohesion. Post-camp, the team will fly out to Malaysia via Dubai on January 10, 2025, to acclimatize and participate in warm-up matches before the tournament begins.
