Doctor reveals the recovery period of Kambli

While Kambli remains resilient on getting healthy once again, Dr. Vivek Dwivedi of the Akruti Health City Hospital has stated that he will need good rehabilitation, which means physiotherapy and nutrition support to overcome his current situation that includes a degenerative memory due to alcoholism. Kambli will also need speech therapy as there is some slurring in his voice.

Notably, Kambli was earlier admitted to the hospital on December 21 after complaints of urinary infection and muscle cramps. After medical examinations, the former Indian cricketer was also diagnosed with brain clots. Doctors have confirmed that his health condition is steadily improving.

This is not the first time that Kambli has suffered health issues. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in 2013 after suffering a heart attack while driving his car. Later on, Kambli had to undergo angioplasty on two of his blocked arteries to recover fully. The former Indian cricketer had represented India in 17 Tests and 104 ODIs and scored 3,561 runs in his international career.
