The highly anticipated player draft for the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) concluded in Lahore on Monday (January 13). All six franchises finalized their squads for the much-awaited tournament. The draft saw a mix of international stars and emerging talents joining the teams, promising a thrilling season ahead.

Big names like David Warner were among the top picks. Teams also utilized Wild Card entries to strengthen their lineups. The tournament is set to take place in April-May this year and features competitive action. With squads now complete, fans eagerly await PSL 2025.

Category-wise breakdown at the end of the PSL 2025 draft

1. Platinum Category

  • In Round 1, Lahore Qalandars selected Daryl Mitchell, while Karachi Kings picked Warner to bolster their lineup. Quetta Gladiators opted for Mark Chapman, and Peshawar Zalmi secured Tom Kohler-Cadmore. Multan Sultans added Michael Bracewell to their squad, and Islamabad United chose Matthew Short.
  • Moving to Round 2, Quetta Gladiators used their Wild Card pick to bring in Faheem Ashraf, while Karachi Kings added Adam Milne. Quetta further strengthened their batting with Finn Allen, and Karachi used another Wild Card to draft Abbas Afridi.

2. Diamond Category

Karachi Kings kicked off the Diamond Category with the addition of Khushdil Shah. Peshawar Zalmi selected Corbin Bosch, while Islamabad United went for the experienced Jason Holder. Lahore Qalandars brought in Kusal Perera, adding depth to their batting. Peshawar Zalmi rounded off the category with Mohammad Ali.

3. Gold Category

  • In Round 1 of the Gold Category, Peshawar Zalmi used their Wild Card to select Abdul Samad. Multan Sultans drafted Mohammad Hasnain, while Islamabad United picked Ben Dwarshuis. Karachi Kings added Aamir Jamal to their lineup, Multan Sultans included Kamran Ghulam, and Peshawar Zalmi picked Nahid Rana.
  • In Round 2, Peshawar Zalmi bolstered their all-round options with Hussain Talat.

4. Silver Category

  • Round 1 saw Multan Sultans drafting Akif Javed, while Karachi Kings added Mir Hamza. Islamabad United selected Salman Irshad, and Lahore Qalandars brought in Asif Afridi. Quetta Gladiators picked Khurram Shahzad, and Peshawar Zalmi secured Ahmed Daniyal.
  • In Round 2, Peshawar added Najibullah Zadran to their squad, Quetta Gladiators picked Haseebullah Khan, and Karachi Kings chose Litton Das. Islamabad United strengthened their bowling with Mohammad Nawaz, Lahore Qalandars picked Asif Ali, and Multan Sultans used the Right to Match card for Tayyab Tahir.
  • Round 3 included Lahore drafting Rishad Hossain, Islamabad adding Andries Gous, and Multan selecting Gudakesh Motie. Quetta Gladiators drafted Kyle Jamieson, Multan added Josh Little, and Lahore finalized their round with Muhammad Akhlaq.

5. Emerging Category

  • In Round 1, Quetta Gladiators drafted Hasan Nawaz, while Peshawar Zalmi picked Maaz Sadaqat. Multan Sultans selected Shahid Aziz, Islamabad United brought in Saad Masood, Lahore Qalandars chose Momin Qamar, and Karachi Kings added Riazullah.
  • In Round 2, Karachi Kings picked Fawad Ali, Lahore added Mohammad Azab, and Islamabad drafted Hunain Shah. Multan Sultans brought in Ubaid Shah, and Quetta rounded off the category with Mohammad Zeeshan.

6. Supplementary Category

  • Round 1 started with Islamabad United drafting Riley Meredith, followed by Multan Sultans picking Johnson Charles. Lahore Qalandars added Tom Curran, Quetta Gladiators chose Kusal Mendis, and Peshawar Zalmi strengthened their bowling with Alzarri Joseph. Karachi Kings brought in Kane Williamson.
  • In Round 2, Peshawar Zalmi added Ahmed Daniyal, Islamabad United selected Rassie van der Dussen, and Multan drafted Shai Hope. Quetta Gladiators picked Sean Abbott, Karachi Kings brought in Mohammad Nabi, and Lahore Qalandars chose Sam Billings.
  • Round 3 included Karachi drafting Omair Bin Yousuf, Lahore adding Salman Ali Mirza, and Multan picking Yasir Khan, while Islamabad and Peshawar skipped their picks. Quetta Gladiators added Shoaib Malik to their squad.
  • In Round 4, Islamabad and Peshawar skipped their selections, Multan picked Muhammad Amir Barki, Lahore selected Mohammad Naeem, Karachi added Mirza Mamoon Imtiaz, and Quetta rounded off the draft with Danish Aziz.
