No place for Jasprit Bumrah

The most notable exclusion from Badrinath’s squad is star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who is reportedly nursing a back injury. With the pacer expected to miss the group stage matches, Badrinath opted for a pace attack that does not include Bumrah. This decision, while understandable, has sparked discussions among fans about the impact of Bumrah’s absence on India’s bowling strength.

Badrinath’s selected bowling unit features a blend of experienced and young pacers. Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj lead the pace attack, while Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar add variety with their swing bowling, respectively. For spin options, Kuldeep Yadav has been included, with Varun Chakaravarthy named as a standby in case Kuldeep fails to recover from his injury. Axar Patel and Washington Sundar, both spin-bowling all-rounders, are expected to play crucial roles in providing depth to the attack.
