The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially appointed Mehidy Hasan Miraz as the vice-captain of the national team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The announcement was made on Thursday, confirming the all-rounder’s leadership role as Bangladesh gears up for the marquee tournament.
Leadership experience and Bangladesh’s preparations
Notably, Mehidy has been a key figure in Bangladesh’s cricketing setup, having represented the team in 103 ODIs. He recently led the squad on their West Indies tour, stepping in for regular skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, who was sidelined due to injury. His experience as a leader and his all-round abilities make him a valuable asset to the team heading into the tournament.
