Gardner takes over the leadership role from her compatriot Beth Mooney, who led the team in the previous season. A vital player in Australian cricket, Gardner has consistently delivered match-winning performances and has been a key contributor to her national side’s dominance in world cricket.

Gardner has been an integral part of the Gujarat Giants since the league’s inception. Over the last two seasons of WPL, she has amassed 324 runs and scalped 17 wickets, proving her all-round abilities. Her achievements extend beyond WPL, as she has won the Belinda Clark Award twice, played a crucial role in Australia’s Commonwealth Games 2022 gold medal triumph, and was named the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2023.
