In an important clash for the both the teams to keep their ILT20 season alive, MI Emirates displayed some exquisite moments of cricketing prowess to outperform Gulf Giants. Leading from the front for the Emirates was explosive wicket-keeper batter Nicholas Pooran whose emphatic shot against Chris Jordan was the highlight of the innings.

The incident occurred after MI Emirates got off to a solid start chasing down a total of 174 runs to win the match. However, Giants made a remarkable comeback by clinching 3 crucial wickets in quick succession. Tom Banton gave his wicket away to Aayan Afzal Khan while Kusal Pereira got caught on the receiving end of an unfortunate run-out in the same over. Andre Fletcher too could not continue for long and was dismissed by Blessing Muzarabani.
In the 17th over of the innings, Bevon Jacobs was sent back to the pavilion by Jordan to put further pressure on the visitors. Just then, Pooran who was trying to get hold of the Emirates run-chase from one end, pulled the ball remarkably and sent it into the stands to hit a maximum. The shot released the pressure and brought Emirates back into the run-chase.

Pooran anchored Emirates run-chase to win the match
The ace wicket-keeper batter played a crucial role in Emirate’s successful run-chase to win the all-important encounter against the Giants. Pooran played an unbeatable knock of 58 runs off 37 balls studded with 6 boundaries and 3 emphatic sixes and paved the way for Emirates to get right back at 2nd place in the points table.
Earlier, Giants put out a competitive total at the Dubai International Stadium, due to an power-packed knock from skipper James Vince whose 86-run showdown off 50 balls was the highlight of the Giants batting display against the Emirates. His crucial partnership with Jordan Cox and Shimron Hetmeyer allowed Giants to score 173/6 in their 20 overs.
