Surya’s selfie with fans from the other side of the border quickly received widespread appreciation from cricket enthusiasts around the globe. The general sentiment developed after this moment was that despite the tensions between the two nations both on and off the pitch, mutual respect and admiration has prevailed within the cricketing community of both the nations.

India dominated Pakistan in a vital Champions Trophy clash

The Indian fans had reasons to celebrate at the end of the clash with the arch-rivals as the Indian team dominated Pakistan and triumphed over the defending champions by 6 wickets, chasing down a target of 242 with 45 balls to spare. Virat Kohli was the standout performer, scoring an unbeaten 100 off 111 balls, and was named Player of the Match. Pakistan posted a total of 241 runs in 49.4 overs, which India managed to achieve due to notable contributions from Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill and a splendid knock from Kohli.
