The Indian fans had reasons to celebrate at the end of the clash with the arch-rivals as the Indian team dominated Pakistan and triumphed over the defending champions by 6 wickets, chasing down a target of 242 with 45 balls to spare. Virat Kohli was the standout performer, scoring an unbeaten 100 off 111 balls, and was named Player of the Match. Pakistan posted a total of 241 runs in 49.4 overs, which India managed to achieve due to notable contributions from Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill and a splendid knock from Kohli.
