The Australian team has come up with a major change ahead of their T20I series against New Zealand. Star wicket-keeper batter Alyssa Healy has been ruled out of the series as she is currently focussed on keeping herself fit for the upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup in India.

Faltum was born on January 7, 2000 in the city of Traralgone of the Victoria province in Australia. Her passion for cricket developed early on in her career as she featured and got success early on in her career at the junior level.
2. Journey with her state team:

She made her debut for her state team Victoria during the 2017-18 domestic season. SInce then, Faltum emerged as a major presence for her team at the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) and even led the team in the prestigious domestic tournament during the 2024-25 season. Under the leadership of Faltum, Victoria ended 5th in the points table with some notable performances during the course of their journey.
3. WBBL title run with the Renegades:

Faltum made her Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) debut in the same year as her first appearance for her state team. However, the 25-year-old’s impressive run marks a key moment of her career so far. She was associated with Melbourne Stars Women for 7 seasons with impressive displays with the bat during the 2023-24 season. Her time with Stars changed her fortunes and paved the way for her to play for the Melbourne Renegades in the next season which ultimately won the WBBL title last season. Faltum has been a star of the WBBL with 429 runs to his name in 90 matches played across seasons and has now bagged an important role behind the stumps for the Renegades.

4. Friendship with Annabel Sutherland:

Another prominent star of the Australia’s women team, Annabel Sutherland is great friends with Faltum. Both players have represented their state team, Victoria around the same time and have long been associated with Stars in the WBBL as teammates. Faltum and Sutherland are quite vocal about their friendship on social media and frequently post about each other.
5. Experience in Australian colours:

Faltum is also an experienced campaigner for Australia in List A matches. She has represented Australia A against quality opposition such as India, New Zealand and England. Additionally, she was the captain of the Governor-General’s XI squad against England before their latest Ashes campaign, but the match was called off dur to rain at the Sydney Oval.
