“I would like Pakistan to be successful in winning the Champions Trophy title,” said Akram, as quoted by NDTV.
However, he acknowledged the challenge ahead, emphasizing the strength of all competing teams. Akram said, “The top 8 teams are going to face each other for the Champions Trophy title. All the teams are going to play the biggest matches.”
Akram also highlighted the significance of the India-Pakistan clash in Dubai, where he believes spinners will play a key role due to the tricky nature of the pitch. While making his prediction, Akram remained optimistic about Pakistan’s chances of at least making the semifinals.
“The pitch of Dubai is not easy. From what I have seen on the wicket, I think that having spinners in the team will make a difference. My gut feeling is that Pakistan will reach the semi-finals,” added Akram.
