Predictions and analysis begin for IPL 2025

Opening and top order
According to Chopra, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad should open the innings for CSK. He pointed out that this left-right combination would provide stability at the top, with both batters known for their ability to anchor the innings while accelerating when required.
At No. 3, Chopra suggested playing Rachin Ravindra, adding an extra dimension to CSK’s top order. The New Zealand all-rounder has proven his ability to play aggressive cricket while also offering a handy spin option. However, Chopra noted that playing both Conway and Ravindra might restrict CSK’s overseas bowling choices, particularly Noor Ahmad, which could be a challenge for team management.
Middle order options
For the middle order, Chopra recommended Rahul Tripathi at No. 4, praising his attacking style and ability to play spin well. His aggressive approach can help CSK maintain momentum in the middle overs.
Chopra then placed Shivam Dube at No. 5, highlighting his explosive hitting ability, particularly against spinners. He strongly backed Sam Curran at No. 6, calling him a “mighty player” who has already proven his all-round abilities in the IPL.
At No. 7, Ravindra Jadeja finds his place as a key all-rounder, bringing both batting depth and bowling versatility. Chopra included MS Dhoni at No. 8, suggesting that his batting position can remain flexible depending on match situations. Dhoni’s presence as a leader and finisher remains crucial for CSK’s success.

Bowling combination and additional options
In the bowling department, Chopra picked Ravichandran Ashwin at No. 9, emphasizing how his inclusion gives CSK the liberty to adopt an aggressive batting approach from the start.
For pace bowling, he selected Khaleel Ahmed and Matheesha Pathirana, forming a strong left-arm and sling-action pace duo. He also mentioned that if CSK bowls first, they could bring in either Shreyas Gopal or Mukesh Choudhary for additional bowling depth.
Additionally, Chopra acknowledged that CSK has two solid Indian batting alternatives in Deepak Hooda and Vijay Shankar, who can step in if needed.
