According to Chopra, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad should open the innings for CSK. He pointed out that this left-right combination would provide stability at the top, with both batters known for their ability to anchor the innings while accelerating when required.
At No. 3, Chopra suggested playing Rachin Ravindra, adding an extra dimension to CSK’s top order. The New Zealand all-rounder has proven his ability to play aggressive cricket while also offering a handy spin option. However, Chopra noted that playing both Conway and Ravindra might restrict CSK’s overseas bowling choices, particularly Noor Ahmad, which could be a challenge for team management.
