Ishan Kishan has made a dream debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025 by scoring the first century of the season. The wicketkeeper-batter played a sensational knock of 106 runs off just 47 balls against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 23, 2025. His innings was laced with 11 fours and six sixes, striking at an incredible rate of 225.53.

Kishan’s century came at a crucial time for SRH, who were looking to make a strong statement early in the tournament. With this innings, he has not only proven his worth but has also emerged as one of the most dangerous top-order batters this season.

Maiden century of Ishan Kishan’s career

Kishan reached his maiden IPL century in just 45 balls, marking a significant achievement in his nine-season-long IPL career. He brought up the milestone with a double on the last ball of the 19th over, bowled by Sandeep Sharma. Before this, his highest score in the IPL was 99, which he had scored for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020.

SRH posts second-highest total in IPL history

Kishan’s fiery innings powered SRH to a massive total of 286 runs, the second-highest in IPL history. He stitched an important partnership with Travis Head, who scored 67 off 31 balls, helping SRH dominate the Rajasthan Royals’ bowling attack. The high-scoring innings left the RR bowlers clueless as boundaries kept flowing.

Redemption after a challenging season

Kishan’s outstanding knock is being seen as a redemption after a tough previous season with Mumbai Indians, where he struggled for consistency. SRH picked him up for ₹11.25 crore in the IPL mega auction, and he has already justified the price tag with this match-winning performance. His innings has not only silenced critics but also sent a strong message to the rest of the teams.
