Australia’s Paul Reiffel and England’s Richard Illingworth have been assigned as the on-field officials for the Champions Trophy final, with Sri Lanka’s Ranjan Madugalle overseeing the match as the referee. Reiffel, a former Australian pacer who took over 200 wickets in Test and ODI cricket, was previously part of the officiating team for South Africa’s semifinal against New Zealand in Lahore.
Similarly, Illingworth, former England left-arm spinner, also officiated during India’s semifinal encounter with Australia in Dubai. A four-time recipient of the ICC Umpire of the Year award, Illingworth was in charge during the title clashes of the 2023 ODI World Cup in India and the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies.
