Athiya shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, praising Rahul’s crucial contribution to the team’s success. KL Rahul: Third-fastest Indian to complete 3,000 ODI runs
In his 84-match ODI career, Rahul has amassed over 3,000 runs, maintaining an impressive batting average of 48.53. His stats include seven centuries and 18 half-centuries, with his highest individual score being 112.
Among Indian batters who have surpassed the 3,000-run mark in ODIs, Rahul’s average ranks just behind Virat Kohli (58), MS Dhoni (50.57) and Rohit Sharma (48.64).
Rahul reached the 3,000-run milestone in ODIs in just 78 innings. Among Indian players, only Shikhar Dhawan (72) and Kohli (75) have achieved this feat in fewer innings. It is worth noting that, unlike Kohli and Dhawan, who mostly batted at the top, Rahul has scored the majority of his runs while operation at number four or lower.
