The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 witnessed an epic splash between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday. Amongst all the things that were highlighted during the course of this match, the Capitals’ latest spin prodigy Nallapureddy Shree Charani has emerged as a major talking point after her brilliant performance with the bowl against the defending champions on her WPL debut.
N. Shree Charani’s remarkable bowling against RCB
The masterclass from Shree Charani started during the 16th over of the RCB innings after DC won the toss and invited the home team to bat first. With Ellyse Perry holding the innings on one end, Raghvi Bisht supported her from the other by that time. Shree Charani broke the partnership with an emphatic delivery which forced her to step forward and go down the track to the bowl. Bisht missed the ball completely which went straight to wicketkeeper Sarah Bryce who quickly dislodged the bails.
The dominance form Shree Charani did not just end there, she pulled a good-length delivery on the 5th ball of the over which turned on its head. Richa Ghosh, who just scored a boundary on the previous delivery decided to attack the ball and hit it out of the ground. But, it took a thick edge instead and gave away a simple catch to the Capitals skipper Meg Lanning.
