He stitched together a 142-run partnership with Shahrukh Khan and Jos Buttler in the middle overs, keeping the run rate consistently above 10. His knock, comprising 8 boundaries and 3 sixes, was a mix of precise timing and controlled aggression. Whether it was stepping down the track to loft the spinners or piercing gaps through the covers, Sudharsan never let the bowlers settle. Supported by cameos from Shahrukh (36 off 20) and a fiery finish from Rahul Tewatia (24 not out off 12), GT crossed the 200-run mark with ease. Despite late wickets, the foundation laid by Sudharsan proved to be a match-winning effort.

Rajasthan Royals batting crumbles under pressure despite Shimron Hetmyer’s counterattack

Chasing a mammoth target of 218, Rajasthan were never truly in the hunt after losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana early. Captain Sanju Samson played a fluent knock of 41 off 28 but couldn’t convert it into a big one. Riyan Parag tried to up the ante but fell trying to accelerate. The only notable resistance came from Hetmyer, who struck a quickfire 52 off 32 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. However, with wickets tumbling around him, Hetmyer’s effort went in vain. The Gujarat bowling unit, led by Prasidh Krishna (3/24) and Rashid Khan (2/37), applied relentless pressure, never allowing any sustained partnerships. Sai Kishore’s timely double-strike sealed the deal as RR crumbled to 159 in the 20th over, handing Gujarat a thumping win.
