The Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are taking on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur in Match 28 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, hoping to bounce back after a recent defeat to Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB, currently struggling to regain momentum, will be aiming for a turnaround in today’s clash.
RCB dons special green jersey for the IPL 2025 match against RR
Despite today’s contest being played in the Pink City, RCB will be seen sporting their iconic green jersey as part of their long-running Go Green initiative. This special campaign, which began in 2011, sees RCB ditch their usual red and gold kits for one match every season to raise awareness about environmental sustainability. The green jersey is crafted entirely from recycled materials, reinforcing RCB’s commitment to becoming carbon neutral. Through this initiative, the team encourages tree planting and eco-consciousness among their fans and the wider cricket community. The team officially announced their participation in the Go Green match on the social media platform X, sharing a video of their players traveling to Jaipur in green-themed travel kits. The caption read:
“Before we go Green against RR on Sunday, the team sported a new green travel kit en route to Jaipur, sharing a few special messages about RCB’s Go Green initiative over the years,” the post reads.

Toss report: Rajat Patidar sends Rajasthan Royals to bat first
At the toss, Rajat Patidar won and opted to bowl first, hoping to use the conditions under lights to their advantage. The pitch at Sawai Mansingh Stadium appeared hard and promising for pace early on.
“We will bowl first. Surface looks pretty hard and good. We will know how the pitch behaves. This (green jersey) is to raise awareness to plant more trees. Same team for us,” Patidar said at the toss ceremony.
While RCB stuck with the same XI that played against Delhi, Rajasthan Royals made a single change: Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lankan spin-bowling all-rounder, replaced Fazalhaq Farooqi to add variety to the bowling attack.
