According to Dr. Sriram Nene, husband of Bollywood legend Madhuri Dixit, the couple’s relocation was mainly inspired by their wish to “enjoy their success” and “raise their children normally” – something that has become increasingly difficult in India due to their fame.
Speaking during a recent discussion on his health and wellness YouTube channel, Dr. Nene shared details of a candid conversation he had with Anushka Sharma. He explained: “They were contemplating moving to London because it’s hard for them to enjoy their success here. Every time they step out, it becomes an event.” He pointed out how even ordinary activities like dining at a restaurant quickly attract unwanted attention, making it challenging for the family to live without constant public intrusion.

Virat and Anushka, who tied the knot in December 2017, are now parents to daughter Vamika and son Akaay, born in February 2024. Friends close to the couple say that ensuring a normal childhood for their children has become a top priority. “They just want to raise their kids in a normal environment,” Dr. Nene added, highlighting the couple’s wish to shield their family from the overwhelming fame they face in India.

Their determination to create a quieter, more private life appears to have strengthened following the arrival of their second child. Over the past year, Virushka have been spotted in London on multiple occasions, fuelling speculation about their relocation. Now, it seems the move is all but confirmed, with Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, also acknowledging that the cricketer has plans to settle in London with his family.
Despite establishing a new base abroad, both Virat and Anushka remain committed to their careers. Kohli continues to play a crucial role for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season and has shown no signs of slowing down on the cricket field. Anushka, too, remains connected to her professional projects in India.
