These two powerhouses boast some of the most explosive batters in T20 history, and whenever they meet, fireworks are guaranteed.

Over the years, RCB have delivered some massive batting performances against MI, lighting up stadiums and setting records.

RCB’s top 5 totals against Mumbai Indians in IPL history

1) 235/1 – Wankhede Stadium, 2015

RCB’s highest-ever total against Mumbai Indians came during the IPL 2025 season at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. After the early dismissal of Chris Gayle, fans witnessed one of the most iconic partnerships in IPL history between Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The duo stitched together an unbeaten 215-run partnership for the second wicket.

Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 82 off 50 balls, while AB de Villiers played one of the greatest IPL innings ever – a blistering 133* off just 59 deliveries, featuring 19 fours and 4 sixes.

RCB ended with a massive 235/1, which proved too much for MI, securing a dominant 39-run win and etching the partnership into IPL folklore.

2) 221/5 – Wankhede Stadium, 2025

In their latest clash on April 7, 2025, RCB delivered another power-packed performance at the same venue. Batting first, the team piled up 221/5, with three key contributors lighting up the scoreboard:

Virat Kohli continued his brilliance with a classy 67 off 42 balls, captain Rajat Patidar struck a fiery 64 off just 32 balls and Jitesh Sharma provided a late surge with an unbeaten 40 off 19 deliveries.

MI mounted a spirited chase, but RCB held firm in the final over, winning by 12 runs and securing a rare victory at the Wankhede after nearly a decade.

3) 201/7 – Dubai International Stadium, 2020

In the 2020 IPL season, held in the UAE, RCB posted 201/7 against Mumbai Indians in Dubai. The innings was built on a solid start and an explosive finish:

Devdutt Padikkal (54 off 40) and Aaron Finch (52 off 35) gave a strong platform with an 81-run opening stand. AB de Villiers once again played a game-changing role, smashing an unbeaten 55 off just 24 balls. Shivam Dube contributed a quick 27 no out off 10 balls.

The match ended in a thrilling tie, with RCB eventually emerging victorious in the Super Over, thanks to their cool-headed bowling.

4) 199/6 – Wankhede Stadium, 2023

Back at Wankhede in IPL 2023, RCB once again posted a competitive total of 199/6. Their top-order fired in unison:

Faf du Plessis led with a captain’s knock of 65 off 41 balls. Glenn Maxwell lit up the innings with 68 off just 33 balls. Dinesh Karthik added a quick 30 off 18 balls at the death.

However, RCB’s bowlers couldn’t contain Suryakumar Yadav, whose explosive innings helped MI chase down the target comfortably, handing RCB a disappointing loss despite a strong batting show.
