In a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match that had everything from big hits to fiery spells, one of the most talked-about moments didn’t come from a boundary or a wicket—it came from a celebration gone hilariously wrong. During Tuesday night’s high-octane clash between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars, Multan’s rising pace star Ubaid Shah became the center of attention for reasons both brilliant and bizarre.

Ubaid Shah’s high-five hits Usman Khan

After claiming the crucial wicket of Lahore’s Sam Billings, Ubaid let out a roar and launched into a celebratory spin—only for his fist to collide with the unsuspecting head of wicketkeeper. The accidental punch looked brutal on camera, and for a split second, silence fell over the ground. Fortunately, Usman signalled he was okay with a quick thumbs-up after being checked by medics, and the tension gave way to laughter.

Beyond the viral celebration, Ubaid’s performance was nothing short of sensational. He delivered a match-winning spell, picking up three wickets for just 37 runs, a feat that turned the tide in Multan’s favor. His aggression, pace, and energy were on full display—and while his celebration technique might need a little fine-tuning, his bowling certainly doesn’t.

Multan Sultan’s might edge past Lahore Qalandars

Before the celebration stole headlines, it was Multan’s batters who lit up the night. Setting a daunting total of 229, they laid the groundwork for victory early. Lahore Qalandars tried to match fire with fire, racing to 38 runs in the first four overs. But once Mohammad Naeem was dismissed, Multan seized control.

Despite a few flashes of brilliance—Fakhar Zaman’s explosive 32 off 14 and Billings’ counterattacking 43—the Qalandars couldn’t maintain momentum. Sikandar Raza added drama with a fiery 50 off 27 balls, but wickets kept tumbling, and the required run rate soared. Multan’s bowlers, led by Ubaid, held their nerve, eventually sealing a 34-run victory as Lahore finished on 195 for 9.
