After the pause, Thusara came back with a plan. He went for the yorker, but the ball instead turned into a low full toss. What made the delivery unplayable was the prodigious late swing away from Breetzke. The ball, initially heading towards the middle stump, veered sharply towards off just as Breetzke tried to adjust his shot. Attempting to carve it through the covers, Breetzke was beaten on the outside edge, and the ball crashed into his off stump, sending it cartwheeling. Opting to bowl first, RCB found themselves under pressure as Rishabh Pant and Mitchell Marsh stitched a blazing unbeaten stand after the early dismissal of Breetzke for 14. Pant led the charge with an explosive 58 not out off 34 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, while Marsh supported with a fluent unbeaten 44 off 26 balls. The duo’s 100-run partnership came off just 56 balls and propelled LSG’s scoring rate beyond 10 runs per over. Despite Thushara’s early breakthrough, RCB’s bowling unit, featuring Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Romario Shepherd and Yash Dayal, struggled to contain the flow of runs. With the strategic timeout taken at 55/1 in the powerplay, LSG capitalized on the momentum, punishing erratic lines and poor lengths.
