Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp is buzzing with energy, and not just because of their top-of-the-table performance in IPL 2025. Off the field, the camaraderie among teammates is just as entertaining as the cricket itself. One recent video has fans smiling as Virat Kohli, the heart and soul of RCB, jokingly called out a young teammate for being a bit too attached to him. The unsuspecting target? A promising youngster experiencing his first IPL season. What followed was a hilarious exchange that offered a glimpse into the fun and banter behind the scenes at RCB.
Virat Kohli hilariously trolls RCB teammate
Swastik Chikara might not have played a game yet for RCB this season, but he’s already made his presence felt—especially in the dressing room. The 22-year-old from Ghaziabad, who impressed in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League and was previously part of Delhi Capitals, has found himself shadowing none other than Kohli. While Chikara clearly admires Kohli like a big brother, it seems the admiration is becoming a running joke within the squad.
In a fun video segment shared by RCB, Kohli was asked which teammate he would or wouldn’t want as a roommate. Without skipping a beat, he replied with a chuckle, “I wouldn’t say it’s Swastik Chikara. Because he doesn’t leave me alone, so definitely not him.” The playful jab had everyone laughing, but also highlighted the natural bond forming between the legend and the newcomer.
Despite the joke, it’s clear that Chikara’s enthusiasm is welcomed in the camp. For a young player trying to learn the ropes in one of the world’s biggest T20 leagues, there could be no better mentor than Kohli.
Here’s the video:

The roommate Kohli would pick
While Swastik may not be on Kohli’s roommate shortlist, the star batter did mention someone who piqued his interest was Jitesh Sharma. The wicketkeeper-batter, who was picked up by RCB for a hefty ₹11 crore, has been turning heads with both his performance and his vibrant personality.
Kohli revealed he’s curious to know Jitesh better, saying, “I would want to see that really fun, raw side of him because I can see it in his eyes. He’s got that mischief about him. He’s very street smart, you can see it on the field, he finds different ways of looking at things.” Kohli’s comments suggest that beyond stats, he values character and vibe—traits that define a close-knit team.
As RCB prepares for a high-octane clash against CSK on May 3 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, their locker room vibes seem stronger than ever. With Kohli in stellar form—443 runs in 10 games—and the team leading the table, light-hearted moments like these are just the icing on the cake.
