The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a melting pot of talents over the years. Where experienced overseas players share the same dugout with talented young lads. Among the most exciting aspects of the league is the movement of players between teams, creating new opportunities and storylines every season.
Two of the newest and most promising teams in the IPL – Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) – have made a strong impact since joining the league in 2022. Both franchises boast strong lineups and passionate fan bases, and have built a quiet but competitive rivalry on the field. In the process, a few players have had the unique distinction of playing for both teams, reflecting the ever-changing dynamics of the IPL.
Here are the two players who have played for both GT and LSG in IPL T20:
1. David Miller
The first in the list is South African powerhouse David Miller. Known for his explosive hitting at the death, Miller has been one of the renowned finisher in the history of the league. He has been a backbone of multiple franchises over the years, often finishing the matches with firry knocks.
Miller joined GT in the 2022 season and quickly became a key figure in their batting lineup. His standout year came in 2022, where he scored 481 runs and played several match-winning knocks, including a crucial performance in the playoffs that helped GT clinch their maiden IPL title. Known for his calm under pressure and explosive finishing, Miller remained with the franchise till 2024, providing consistency and experience in the middle order across multiple successful campaigns.
In the 2025 IPL auction, Miller was bought by Lucknow for INR 7.50 crores to strengthen their middle order. However, the move hasn’t yielded the desired results. Despite his experience and past success, Miller has struggled to make a significant impact for LSG. In 11 matches, he has scored only 153 runs at a strike rate of 127.50. His lack of form has been a concern, making the investment seem underwhelming so far.
