Now, Rahul is choosing a softer tone, calling Kohli one of the greatest cricketers of all time and expressing his respect for the player.

Taking to his Instagram on Saturday evening, Rahul expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kohli for unblocking him. In a note shared with his followers, the singer wrote, “Thank you @virat.kohli for unblocking me… you are one of the best batsman cricket has ever seen and Aap India ka garv ho 🇮🇳! Jai Hind. God bless you and your family”
Along with the message, Rahul also took a moment to promote peace and positivity, choosing not to dwell on the past exchange. He also recalled a friendly encounter with Kohli outside a cricket stadium in the UK, where the cricketer had appreciated Rahul’s singing.
In a separate note, Rahul addressed the trolling and abuse he and his family received following his remarks. He condemned the actions of those who targeted his wife, sister, and even morphed images of his infant daughter.
“Also the immatured people who abused my wife and sister, morphed my lil girl’s pics and sent so many abuses to me and my loved ones and are still continuing to do so… Bhagwan aap sab ko sadbuddi de (May God give you wisdom),” wrote Rahul.

Notably, the controversy began when Rahul indirectly hinted that Kohli had liked a post featuring actress Avneet Kaur, which triggered criticism from fans of the cricketer. Following this, Rahul claimed that Kohli had blocked him on Instagram. What followed was a wave of online backlash, with Rahul posting another Story where he lashed out at Kohli’s fans, even calling them ‘jokers’.
