Sunak’s team pick comes with a marriage twist
Speaking to The Times of India, Sunak mentioned the iconic Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) tagline “Ee sala cup namde” (This time, the cup will be ours), expressing his support for the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 final. Sunak revealed he was married to a Bengaluru family, so RCB will always be his team.
In a heartwarming moment, he also showed an RCB T-shirt gifted to him by his parents on the occasion of his wedding. The gesture reflected not just his personal connection to the team, but also the emotional bond his family shares with the franchise.
“Ee sala cup namde, hopefully my pronunciations have improved, since i proposed Akshata 16 years ago in Kannada, but obviously I’m married to a Bengaluru family so RCB is my team. My mom and dad got me this shirt when we got married,” Sunak said.
