The match 13 of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 between Texas Super Kings (TSK) and Washington Freedom (WAS) had a bit of everything. But one moment stood out — when a spectator in the stands pulled off a stunning catch that left the fans and experts in awe. The moment was so special that even the franchise couldn’t resist sharing it on social media.

The moment took place in the 9th over of the second innings, as Washington chasing a massive target of 221 runs. Marcus Stoinis bowled a fuller-wide delivery outside off stump, and Mitchell Owen reached out and smashed it, the ball flew flat and cleared the long-off fence. What happened next stole the show, a fan in the stands wearing a Texas’ jersey, pulled off a stunning one-handed catch high above his head. The crowd erupted, with those nearby clapping and cheering the incredible grab. To top it off, the six also brought up Owen’s half-century.

Washington Freedom edge past Texas Super Kings in a thrilling encounter

After winning the toss, Washington elected to field first in Dallas. Texas, known for their explosive batting lineup didn’t disappoint this time either. Their openers got off to a flying start, putting up 55 runs in less than five overs before Owen dismissed Smit Patel. However, TSK’s strong batting unit kept the scoreboard moving. The standout performer was skipper Faf du Plessis, who once again proved his value with a scintillating knock of 69 runs off just 31 balls. Later, a quickfire 26 from just 10 deliveries by Shubham Ranjane powered the team to a formidable total of 220 for 6.

Chasing a huge total, Washington lost their opener Rachin Ravindra early, with just 38 runs on the board. But Owen and their No. 3 batter Andries Gous had other plans. The duo stitched together a phenomenal 119-run partnership off just 59 deliveries, swinging the momentum in Washington’s favor. Although Texas managed to pick up a few wickets later on, it wasn’t enough, as Washington chased down the target with two balls to spare.
