Prithvi Shaw seeks NOC from Mumbai Cricket Association to switch state teams
As reported by Cricbuzz, Shaw has sent a letter to the Mumbai Cricket Association seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC). The 25-year-old has received offers from several other states and is exploring the options. The MCA has informed the Apex Council members and is expected to issue the NOC soon.
“He has just sent us a letter seeking NOC. We have informed the Apex Council members. We will issue the NOC soon,” stated by Abhay Hadap to Cricbuzz, the secretary of the MCA.
The report further stated Shaw’s letter to the association where he mentioned that he has been presented with a promising opportunity to play professional cricket under another State Association, which he believes will further contribute to his growth and development as a cricketer. In light of this, he has requested the MCA to issue a NOC that would allow him to officially represent the new state association in the upcoming domestic season.
“At this juncture of my career, I have been presented with a promising opportunity to play professional cricket under another State Association, which I believe, will further contribute to the growth and development as a cricketer. From debut centurion to domestic exit
Shaw, once hailed as one of India’s brightest young talents, has experienced a dramatic rise and an equally surprising decline in his cricketing journey. After leading India to victory in the prestigious U-19 World Cup, Shaw quickly earned an international call-up and made an immediate impact by scoring a century on his Test debut against the West Indies.
However, things suddenly changed for the young prodigy. A dip in form saw him dropped from the national side, and concerns around fitness further affected his progress. His struggles continued at the domestic level, where he eventually lost his place in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad. Most recently, his name went unsold in the IPL auction, a telling sign of how far his stock had fallen in a short span.
