The IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has lived up to the hype, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) locking horns against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a contest that promises a new champion. Both teams, having never clinched the IPL trophy before, entered the summit clash with everything on the line. With over 1,00,000 fans packing the stands and the pressure of a maiden title, every moment on the field has become magnified — and tempers, intensity, and drama have all risen in equal measure.
Kyle Jamieson’s yorker gets rid of Rajat Patidar
The moment that turned the tide came in the 11th over when Kiwi pacer Kyle Jamieson produced an absolute peach to dismiss Rajat Patidar. On the fifth ball of the over, Jamieson unleashed a clever change of pace — a dipping slower yorker that caught Patidar completely off guard. The RCB batter, trying to shuffle across, failed to connect and was struck plumb in front of middle and leg. Umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal didn’t hesitate to raise the finger, and Patidar walked off without even considering a review, knowing he was trapped dead in front.
The delivery showcased Jamieson’s skill and match awareness, mixing speed and deception to break a threatening partnership and silence the RCB crowd for a moment.

RCB post a solid total despite middle-order hiccups
Despite losing key wickets at regular intervals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have managed to post a competitive total of 190/9 after 20 overs. The top order provided momentum while the middle overs saw tight bowling from the PBKS attack, especially with breakthroughs like Jamieson’s. Virat Kohli was the top run-scorer for RCB with 43 off 35 balls. Liam Livingstone (25 off 15) and Jitesh Sharma (24 off 10) contributed well to take RCB to a competitive total.
As the match heads into the second innings, all eyes will be on RCB’s bowlers and PBKS’s explosive batting unit in this historic clash for IPL glory.
