The entertainment and sports fraternities were united in grief on Saturday as news broke of the sudden passing of model and actress Shefali Jariwala at the age of 42 in Mumbai. Among the many celebrities expressing shock and sorrow was former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, who paid a heartfelt tribute to the late actress, highlighting the deep impact she had on her fans and colleagues.
Shefali Jariwala’s sudden demise due to cardiac arrest
Shefali Jariwala, known for her electrifying performance in the early 2000s music video ‘Kaanta Laga,’ passed away late Friday night after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest. She was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and three others. Despite their efforts, she was declared brought dead upon arrival.

Shefali Jariwala: A star who lit up every screen
Shefali’s career spanned music videos, reality shows, and films. After her breakthrough with ‘Kaanta Laga,’ she appeared in popular dance reality shows like ‘Nach Baliye’ and ‘Boogie Woogie,’ and was a fan-favourite contestant on ‘Bigg Boss 13,’ where her camaraderie with late actor Sidharth Shukla won hearts. She also featured in Bollywood movie ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and the Kannada film ‘Hudugaru.’ Despite stepping away from daily limelight after marrying Parag Tyagi in 2014, Shefali remained active on social media, delighting fans with glimpses of her life and glamorous photoshoots.
Just three days before her passing, Shefali posted radiant photos in a silver jumpsuit with the caption, “Bling it on baby!”—a phrase that now carries a poignant resonance for her admirers.
