The internet was set ablaze this past weekend with fervent speculation regarding a supposed impending marriage between celebrated music composer Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran, CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and daughter of media mogul Kalanithi Maran.

The whirlwind of speculation initially gained significant traction following a Reddit post that went viral. The post sensationally claimed that Anirudh and Kavya had been in a relationship for over a year and were actively preparing to tie the knot. Adding fuel to the fire, the anonymous post even suggested that superstar Rajinikanth, a relative of Anirudh, had personally engaged with Kavya’s father regarding the alleged relationship. In the wake of this, social media platforms were quickly inundated with purported sightings of the duo. These unverified reports described them together at various private gatherings, luxury hotels, and even on international vacations, further intensifying the rumour mill.

Anirudh Ravichander breaks silence on rumours of marrying Kavya Maran

Responding directly to the swirling vortex of gossip, Anirudh took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday evening. In a characteristically succinct yet direct message, he wrote, “Marriage ah? lol .. Chill out guys. Pls stop spreading rumours.” His humorous, yet firm, denial left no ambiguity, making it abundantly clear that there was absolutely no truth to the widespread wedding reports. The post rapidly went viral, eliciting a wave of relief and appreciation from his dedicated fanbase, who lauded his prompt and clear clarification.

Prior to Anirudh’s statement, neither the composer nor Kavya had offered any public comments on their relationship status, allowing the rumours to propagate unchecked. Anirudh’s latest post, however, has effectively closed the chapter on this particular rumour.
