In a much anticipated move, the Big Bash League (BBL) has added another major international star to its growing list of marquee players for the upcoming 2025–26 season. One of Pakistan’s famous T20 batters has officially signed with the Sydney Sixers (SS), creating buzz among fans. The new joiner is expected to boost the team’s top order and add depth in high-pressure situations.

The three-time title holders SS, have signed Pakistan’s premier batter Babar Azam for the upcoming KFC BBL|15 season. Known for his elegant stroke play and calm temperament, the right-hander is expected to add much-needed depth to the Sixers’ batting lineup, which has often lacked consistency in recent years.

The Sixers expressed their excitement over Babar’s signing ahead of the upcoming summer. Meanwhile, Babar shown excitement to play in one of the world’s top T20 leagues and to join a highly respected and successful franchise. Babar has been out of Pakistan’s national T20 squad following a prolonged dip in form. His struggles with both consistency and strike rate have been a growing concern in recent years, with the right-hander often failing to find momentum at the crease.
