Virat Kohli, one of India’s most celebrated cricketers, has been spending his time away from international cricket with his family in London. With the star batter stepping away from Tests and T20Is, fans have been curious about his whereabouts. While social media occasionally captures glimpses of him strolling through the streets of London, the exact location of his residence remained a mystery — until now.
Jonathan Trott accidentally reveals Virat Kohli’s stay in London
During a conversation on Star Sports, former England batter Jonathan Trott dropped a significant hint about Kohli’s current home in the UK capital. He hinted that Kohli might be living in or around St. John’s Wood in London and questioned whether the former India captain could be tempted to return to the game. Referring to Kohli’s recent emotional tweet about missing the dressing room atmosphere, Trott expressed empathy, suggesting that once players step away from the game, the longing for that camaraderie often returns sooner than expected.
“Doesn’t he live in St. John’s Wood or nearby? Can he not be persuaded to come back? No wonder he misses that dressing room feeling. I sometimes wonder how quickly that feeling comes back after you give up the game,” said Trott.
Until Trott’s comments, many believed Kohli had moved to Notting Hill, another affluent and artistic part of west London. That assumption was based on an earlier report published by The Telegraph. However, Trott’s statement has now directed attention to St. John’s Wood — a luxurious residential area in northwest London famous for its charming streets, green spaces, and of course, its proximity to the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Although there’s still no official confirmation from Kohli or his representatives, the frequency of public sightings of him in the vicinity of northwest London has strengthened the speculation.
Kohli maintains a low profile after stepping back
Since stepping away from two international formats like Tests and T20Is, Kohli has taken a visibly private approach to his life. His last public appearance was during Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s victory parade after their dramatic IPL 2025 win — an event that made headlines across the cricketing world.
Despite his absence from active international cricket, Kohli remains a figure of global admiration. Whether in London or back home in India, the former captain continues to inspire millions with his legacy — even in his quieter moments off the pitch.
