The West Indies Champions have officially unveiled their 15-man squad for the much-anticipated World Championship of Legends (WCL) Season 2, set to take place from July 18 to August 2, 2025, in the United Kingdom.

The announcement has generated significant excitement among cricket fans, as the squad boasts a stellar blend of Caribbean cricketing legends, with Chris Gayle returning as captain to lead the side.
Gayle expressed his excitement about the campaign: “Last year, I promised the fans that this season would be greater—and here we are. I’m back as captain of the West Indies Champions, playing alongside my brothers Bravo and Pollard. With this squad, expect nothing less than fireworks. Joining Gayle in the batting powerhouse are Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo, two stalwarts renowned for their power hitting and all-round capabilities. Pollard, a former Windies captain himself, spoke about the special bond the trio shares and the thrill of reuniting at this prestigious event: “We played together for many years for West Indies and in franchise cricket – it’s nice to be able to do that once again. For me too, coming back feels special. To once again wear the colours of West Indies Champions and compete with legends is something I couldn’t pass up.” Bravo, one of the most decorated T20 all-rounders with 631 wickets across 582 matches, also echoed his enthusiasm about representing the West Indies once more and competing alongside cricketing legends and friends.
The squad features some other renowned names from the Caribbean cricketing fraternity as well. The batting unit is supported by Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith and William Perkins, who add depth and experience alongside the marquee players. The pace attack is formidable with the inclusion of Fidel Edwards, Shannon Gabriel and Sheldon Cottrell, all known for their pace, precision, and penchant for crucial wickets. Spin options are equally robust, featuring Ashley Nurse, Sulieman Benn, Nikita Miller and Dave Mohammed, providing tactical variety on slow pitches.
Veteran cricketer and batting maestro Shivnarine Chanderpaul brings calmness and wisdom to this power-packed side. His legendary status and vast experience will be crucial in stabilizing innings under pressure and mentoring younger players. Additionally, Chadwick Walton, a dependable wicketkeeper-batter, rounds off the squad, ensuring balanced team dynamics.
