Wiaan Mulder suffered a dangerous fall while charging in for his bowling run-up during the second ODI between Australia and South Africa. The unexpected slip raised immediate concerns among fans, who feared a potential injury. His tumble quickly became a talking point, highlighting the risks in high-intensity cricket.
Wiaan Mulder’s dangerous fall stuns fans but comeback follows with key wicket of Mitchell Marsh
Mulder began his spell during the ninth over of the second innings. As he ran in to bowl, he lost his footing just before his delivery stride, causing his back leg to slide out from under him. The South African all-rounder fell awkwardly and dangerously onto the pitch, a sight that raised concern among fans. Fortunately, he was unharmed and quickly rose to his feet, inspecting the landing area before calmly returning to his mark to continue his over.
In a remarkable comeback, Mulder dismissed Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh within the same over. Eager to take on the bowler’s first ball, Marsh attempted a pull shot off a delivery that was not quite short enough. He misjudged the length, getting a top edge that sent the ball looping high into the air. The substitute fielder, Corbin Bosch, barely had to move at mid-on to complete a simple catch, leaving Australia in a difficult position and giving Mulder a huge moment of redemption.

Lungi Ngidi’s fifer powers South Africa to series win in Australia
South Africa continued their dominant run against Australia by clinching the second ODI and sealing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. After choosing to bat first, their middle order shone once again as Matthew Breetzke struck his fourth consecutive half-century with a sensational knock of 88. He was well supported by Tristan Stubbs, who added 74. For the home side, Adam Zampa was the standout bowler with three wickets as South Africa were bowled out for 277 in 49.1 overs.
In reply, Australia’s top order crumbled once more. Travis Head fell cheaply for 6 and Marnus Labuschagne managed only 1. Josh Inglis put up a fight with a brilliant 87, but no other batter could find momentum, leading to a massive 84-run defeat. For the Proteas, it was the Lungi Ngidi show as the pacer claimed a superb five-wicket haul that dismantled Australia and secured the series win for his side.
