Warner’s record breaking effort went in vain as London Spirit felt short by 10 runs

The 38-year-old Warner has been showing his experience and calmness at the crease. In London Spirit’s game against Manchester Originals, he played a match-defining knock and stood firm under pressure. Opening the innings, Warner made a superb 71 from 51 balls with 12 fours and a six. He held one end together while wickets kept falling at the other. Spirit still fell 10 runs short in a tense chase of 164. Their innings lacked flow and partnerships. Even with stars like Kane Williamson and Ashton Turner in the side, no other batter managed to pass 20 runs apart from Warner, whose valiant effort ultimately went in vain as Manchester Originals held their nerve in the closing overs.
