In a stunning development just weeks before the start of the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian cricket team is facing an unprecedented situation. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially ended their title sponsorship with the fantasy sports platform Dream11, a move triggered by the passing of a new government bill.
Indian team faces sponsor-less Asia Cup 2025 as Dream11 pulls out
The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, which has been cleared by both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, bans all forms of money-based online games and their promotion in India. As a result, Dream11 was forced to suspend its paid contests, making its three-year, INR 358 crore deal with the BCCI unfeasible.
The Indian team’s jerseys, which were already printed with the Dream11 logo for the tournament, will now not be used. With the Asia Cup in the UAE beginning on September 9, the national side is now without a jersey sponsor. The BCCI has initiated the process of finding a replacement, but the tight timeline makes it highly unlikely that a new sponsor will be in place before the start of the tournament. This marks a significant moment for the Indian team, which, for the first time in years, will potentially be playing a major tournament without a primary sponsor’s logo on its jersey.
Main jersey sponsors of Asia Cup 2025 teams
The Asia Cup 2025 features eight teams, each with a unique sponsorship landscape. The tournament will be particularly notable for the Indian team, which will be taking the field without a main jersey sponsor for the first time in years.
1. Pakistan: The Pakistan national cricket team’s principal partner is Pepsi, a long-standing association that began in the 1990s. The Pakistan Cricket Board signed a one-year extension with the beverage giant in 2020 and has reportedly continued to renew the partnership. This enduring relationship makes Pepsi one of the most recognizable and consistent sponsors in international cricket.

2. Sri Lanka: Dialog Axiata PLC, a prominent mobile connectivity provider in Sri Lanka, is the official sponsor for the national cricket teams. This long-standing partnership, which began in 2013, was extended recently to cover not only the men’s and women’s international teams but also grassroots cricket development initiatives. Dialog’s support extends to other sports in the country as well, showcasing their commitment to the nation’s athletic progress.

3. Bangladesh: Mobile network operator Robi Axiata Limited has returned as the sponsor of the Bangladesh men’s cricket team. The company signed a three-and-a-half-year agreement with the Bangladesh Cricket Board in February 2025, valued at 50 crore Taka. Robi had previously sponsored the team from 2015 to 2018 before pulling out, but has now renewed its commitment to the sport.

The partnership was extended in June 2024 via a competitive bidding process, granting Etisalat rights across all home and away internationals, as well as ICC and ACC tournaments and domestic competitions in 2025.

5. United Arab Emirates: The Emirates Cricket Board has a partnership with Virat as a key official sponsor of the national cricket teams. The UAE team also features other sponsors in specific series and tournaments, such as the recently concluded T20i Tri-Series in Sharjah, which was partnered by Bank Alfalah and Inverex Solar Energy.

6. Hong Kong: Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK) has several partners that support the national teams. The primary sponsors include Arivaa Sports, Sports Management outfit, announced just couple of days ago mainly for the Asia Cup 2025.
