Pakistan sealed the three-match T20I series against West Indies with a hard-fought 13-run victory in the third and final clash at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium. Sahibzada Farhan’s composed 74 off 53 balls set the foundation for Pakistan’s series win, earning him the Player of the Match award.

Pakistan’s strong start with the bat

Opting to bat first, Pakistan’s openers Saim Ayub and Farhan provided a solid start, stitching a crucial partnership that set the tone for a big total. Farhan played a well-paced innings, smashing 3 fours and 5 sixes, while Ayub complemented him perfectly with 66 runs off 49 deliveries. Late cameos from Hasan Nawaz (15 off 7) and Khushdil Shah (11 off 6) powered Pakistan to 189/4 in 20 overs despite disciplined spells from Roston Chase and Jason Holder.

West Indies fight but fall short

In response, West Indies began brightly with Jewel Andrew’s quickfire 24 off 15 balls before Alick Athanaze took charge with an impressive 60 off 40 balls, anchoring the innings. Sherfane Rutherford’s 51 off 35, studded with 3 sixes, kept the hosts in contention. However, Pakistan’s bowlers held their nerve in the death overs, with Sufiyan Muqeem’s economical 4-over spell for just 20 runs proving decisive. The hosts eventually fell 13 runs short, finishing at 176/6.

With this victory, Pakistan wrapped up the T20I series 2-1. The series witnessed thrilling contests, with Pakistan winning the first game by 14 runs, West Indies bouncing back in the second with a 2-wicket win, and the visitors clinching the decider. The focus now shifts to the ODI series, beginning on August 8 at the Brian Lara Stadium, where both sides will look to start fresh and set the tone for the next leg of the tour.
