Pakistan registered a convincing 31-run victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the second match of the UAE T20I Tri-Series 2025 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 207/10 before restricting UAE to 176/8 in their chase.

Pakistan innings – 207/10 (20 Overs)

Pakistan’s innings was built around two standout performances from Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz, who both played explosive knocks to propel their team to a formidable total.

Star performers:

Saim Ayub (69 off 38 balls): The eventual Player of the Match played a scintillating knock, striking 7 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 181.58. His aggressive batting in the middle overs laid the foundation for Pakistan’s strong total.

Hasan Nawaz (56 off 26 balls): Provided the perfect finishing touch with a blistering innings featuring 2 fours and 6 maximums, maintaining a strike rate of over 215.

Mohammad Nawaz contributed a valuable 25 off 15 balls, while Faheem Ashraf added a quick-fire 16 off 10 to ensure Pakistan crossed the 200-run mark.

UAE Bowling: Junaid Siddique was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/49, while Muhammad Saghir Khan also claimed three wickets for 44 runs. However, the UAE bowlers struggled to contain the Pakistan batsmen on what appeared to be a batting-friendly surface.

UAE innings – 176/8 (20 Overs)

The UAE chase was anchored by a magnificent individual effort from Asif-Khan Lala, but lacked the consistent partnerships needed to overhaul Pakistan’s imposing total.

Outstanding performance:

Asif-Khan Lala (77 off 35 balls): Played a heroic innings, smashing 6 fours and 6 sixes in a display of clean hitting. His strike rate of 220 kept UAE in the hunt for a significant portion of their innings.

Waseem Muhammad provided a solid start with 33 off 18 balls, but the middle order failed to capitalize. Dhruv Parashar (15 off 19) and Muhammad Saghir Khan (11 off 7) made minor contributions, but UAE needed bigger partnerships to challenge Pakistan’s total.

Pakistan bowling: Hasan Ali was the standout bowler with figures of 3/47, while Mohammad Nawaz proved economical with 2/21 from his four overs. The Pakistan bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings, never allowing UAE to get ahead of the required run rate.
