Skipper Patidar showed why he is considered one of the most explosive talents in domestic cricket. Coming out to bat at number four, he went on to score a brilliant 125 runs from just 96 balls, an innings that included a blistering 21 fours and 3 sixes. His bludgeoning innings was a treat to watch, as he took the bowlers for cleaners with his aggressive stroke play. It was a long and tiring day for the bowlers of the North East Zone. With the Central Zone batsmen in a punishing mood, the bowling attack struggled to find any rhythm or control. Akash Choudhary, despite a decent economy, could only manage one wicket from his 17 overs. Pheiroijam Jotin also picked up a single scalp but conceded runs at a high economy.
