In a thrilling Asia Cup 2025 Group A encounter between Pakistan and Oman at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, veteran all-rounder Aamir Kaleem produced a stunning moment of brilliance by dismissing Sahibzada Farhan with a sharp caught-and-bowled effort. The dismissal not only showcased Kaleem’s experience but also gave Oman a crucial breakthrough at a time when Pakistan looked to accelerate.

The dismissal came off the very last ball of the 11th over. Bowling full and straight, Kaleem angled the delivery into the right-handed Farhan, cramping him for room. In an attempt to force a big shot down the ground, Farhan mistimed it completely. The ball struck the inner half of his bat and flew straight back towards the bowler.

Kaleem reacted instantly, diving low to his left and completing a superb return catch. The veteran’s sharp reflexes brought Omani fans to their feet as Farhan departed, leaving Pakistan in a tricky position. The video of the dismissal quickly went viral, with fans praising Kaleem’s athleticism at 43 years of age.

Mohammad Haris powers Pakistan to a competitive total

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Pakistan managed to post a fighting total of 160/7 in their 20 overs. Mohammad Haris stood out with a fluent 66-run knock, anchoring the innings with his aggressive stroke play. Haris’ innings kept Pakistan afloat even as Oman’s bowlers maintained tight lines.

Farhan, who was expected to provide stability in the middle order, looked unsettled before falling to Kaleem’s sharp reflexes. His dismissal highlighted Pakistan’s struggle to build lasting partnerships throughout the innings.

For Oman, Kaleem turned out to be the star with the ball. The experienced left-arm spinner used his variations smartly on a surface offering some grip and returned with impressive figures of 3/31 from his four overs. Kaleem’s spell not only contained runs in the middle overs but also provided key breakthroughs, including the prized wicket of Farhan. His performance ensured that Pakistan could not fully capitalize on Haris’ innings and push the score well beyond 170.
