The second innings then saw Virat Kohli and KL Rahul come to the rescue after Men in Blue’s top order collapsed and guided the Indian team to victory.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Australia were bundled out for 199 runs. David Warner and Steve Smith were the top-scorers for Australia, contributing 41 and 46 runs, respectively. Ravindra Jadeja was the standout performer among the Indian bowlers, claiming three wickets for 28 runs in his quota of 10 overs, while Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav bagged two scalps each.

In pursuit of a target of 200 runs, India’s top-order faced early setbacks as Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were dismissed without contributing to the scoreboard. However, Virat and Rahul steadied the ship with a crucial partnership. The former India captain scored 85 runs off 116 balls, anchoring the innings, while the wicket-keeper batter played a match-winning knock of 97 runs off 115 balls as India reached the target with 8.4 overs to spare, finishing at 201/4 in 41.2 overs.
