In a thrilling encounter at Bellerive Oval, Sydney Sixers Women emerged victorious against Hobart Hurricanes Women, securing a three-wicket win in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2023.

Hobart Hurricanes posted a competitive total of 139/8 in their 20 overs. Lizelle Lee‘s dynamic knock of 50 runs off 34 deliveries, including seven fours and one six, set a solid foundation. However, disciplined bowling from Sydney Sixers, especially Linsey Smith (1 wicket for 25 runs) and Lauren Cheatle (2 wickets for 23 runs), restricted the Hurricanes.

Sydney Sixers chased down the target with determination, reaching 140/7 in 20 overs. Mathilda Carmichael played a pivotal role, scoring 32 not out off 21 balls. Despite the efforts of Heather Graham, who took three wickets for 19 runs, Sydney Sixers sealed the victory with three wickets to spare.
