In a fitting culmination to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the closing ceremony is set to unfold in grandeur at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has orchestrated an elaborate ceremony to mark the conclusion of the much-anticipated final clash between India and Australia.
Open with a salute in the sky
The pre-match festivities will commence with a spectacular aerial salute by the Indian Air Force, featuring a nine-hawk acrobatic display synchronized with theme music reflecting the spirit of the new India. The only acrobatic team in Asia will be led by flight commander and deputy team leader wing commander Sidesh Kartik.
Parade of Champions
During the innings break, a Parade of Champions will take centr stage, featuring all the World Cup-winning captains. Esteemed former Indian captains Kapil Dev (1983 World Cup winner) and MS Dhoni (2011 World Cup winner) will be part of the parade, where the BCCI officials will felicitate each captain with a special blazer representing the ICC CWC 23.

Celebrity performers
After the Parade of Champions, Music composer Pritam Chakraborty will deliver a live performance along with his group of singers – Jonita Gandhi, Nakash Aziz, Amit Mishra, Asaka Singh and Tushar Joshi.
Pritam, a key contributor to the ‘Dil Jashn Bole’ song, the official theme song of the 2023 World Cup, will add a musical flourish to the ceremony.
More 500 dancers will then grace the stage, presenting captivating performances to popular tunes such as ‘Deva Deva’, ‘Kesariya’, ‘Lehra Do’, ‘Jeetega Jeetega’, ‘Nagada Nagada’, ‘Dhoom Machale’ and ‘Dangal’.
Playback singer and lyricist Aditya Gadhvi will perform during the drinks break of the first innings.
Lights and laser show
The organizers have also planned a lights and laser show during the drinks break of the second innings. As the match concludes, a breathtaking drone show will unfold, involving 1,200 drones creating an aerial champion board to honour the victorious team.

The closing ceremony is scheduled to start at 1:35 pm IST/8:05 am GMT on Sunday, November 19.
Cricket and entertainment enthusiasts can catch the live broadcast of the closing ceremony on Star Sports Network. The event will also be available for streaming through Disney+Hotstar app, with commentary provided in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, ensuring a multi-lingual viewing experience for fans.
