In a recent announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the extension of contracts for Head Coach Rahul Dravid and the support staff of Team India (Senior Men). The extension includes batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.

Rahul Dravid’s second stint begins with South Africa tour

Dravid’s second stint with the Men in Blue is set to kick off with the tour of South Africa starting from December 10. The tour comprises three ODIs and T20Is each, followed by two Tests. Subsequently, Team India will engage in a five-match Test series against England at home before heading to the ICC T20 World Cup in June, which will take place in West Indies/USA.

Gambhir shared his expectations for Team India to maintain their dominance and exhibit excellent cricket under Dravid’s guidance. Recognizing the unique challenges of the T20 format, Gambhir emphasized the importance of continuity in the coaching staff to ensure stability and success.

“It’s a good thing because the T20 World Cup is around the corner, and you don’t want to change the entire support staff, and it is good that Rahul has accepted it. Hopefully, we can continue to dominate and play good cricket, what India has done for a long period of time. The T20 format is different and challenging, and hopefully, Rahul and the support staff can deliver. Congratulations to them,” Gambhir remarked in an interview with ANI.
