In the aftermath of the recently concluded third T20I between India and Australia, the performance of Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna has become a focal point of criticism from cricket enthusiasts and experts alike. The right-arm speedster endured a challenging outing during the clash, conceding 68 runs in his four-over spell, registering the most expensive bowling figures for Men in Blue in T20Is.
Despite the widespread censure surrounding Krishna’s cricketing display, a distinctive voice has emerged in support of the beleaguered bowler. Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra, known for his astute cricketing insights, has come forward to back the 27-year-old during this testing phase.
‘He’s definitely one of India’s future stars’: Ashish Nehra on Prasidh Krishna
Nehra expressed his confidence in Krishna’s potential, emphasizing his talent despite the limited game time he has received. The stalwart further highlighted Krishna as one of India’s future stars, particularly praising his ability to bowl a good yorker. The 44-year-old acknowledged the challenges of wet grounds and flat pitches but remains optimistic about Krishna’s growth in such conditions.
“You are talking about a guy who has not played much cricket. But there’s no shortage of talent when you talk of someone like Prasidh Krishna. He’s definitely one of India’s future stars and let’s hope that from here he’s only going to get better. He’s someone who can bowl a good yorker. I know it’s difficult to bowl on a wet ground and a flat pitch, but in these kinds of situations, you definitely back your yorker,” Nehra said while speaking on Jio Cinema.
