In a historic move, the auction for the 2024 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) unfolded outside India for the first time, taking place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Among the standout names that commanded considerable focus during the intense bidding process was uncapped Indian cricketer Sushant Mishra.
The 22-year-old promising cricketer, who entered the bidding frey with a base price of INR 20 lakh, saw a fervent bidding war, eventually leading to his acquisition by Gujarat Titans for a notable amount of INR 2.20 crore. This landmark developement marked not only a significant milestone in Sushant’s burgeoning career but also underscored the global appeal and stature of the IPL.
Sushant Mishra’s performance in the domestic circuit
Sushant’s domestic cricket career has been nothing short of impressive, showcasing his prowess as a formidable fast bowler. In the first-class arena, the latter has made a notable impact, securing a total of 20 wickets across seven matches.
His bowling finesse is evident in the five-wicket haul he achieved, coupled with an impressive economy rate of 4.20, reflecting both skill and economy. Mentioning about the List A format, Sushant made waves with an impressive tally of 15 wickets in ten games. He was also part of India’s U-19 World Cup squad in 2020.

Sushant’s experience in IPL
Sushant was summoned by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to contribute as a net bowler in 2020. Demonstrating dedication and skill during two years of net bowling, his persistence bore fruit when he secured a significant opportunity. In the IPL 2022, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) recognized his potential and included him in their team, where he earned a coveted spot in the franchise’s squad.
This marked a pivotal moment in Sushant’s cricket journey as he transitioned from a net bowler to a player in the IPL. However, the Darbhanga-based cricketer is yet to make his IPL debut.
