Virender Sehwag finally tweets after MS Dhoni stepped down as captain

Since the day of MS Dhoni‘s retirement from the captaincy of limited overs cricket, fans have been eagerly waiting for the tweet of former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag.

Speculations were being made that there is an ugly spat between the two and therefore, Viru is keeping himself away from commenting on Dhoni. But this is not true. Sehwag has been a die-hard fan of Captain Cool’s leadership and has always supported him. Even though he once said that Team India should be led by Dhoni till ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 so that he could leave the best team by that time.

As we all know 7 is the favorite number of MS Dhoni, therefore, Viru didn’t not disappoint him and waited for the day and date to come.

On Saturday, in his tweet about Dhoni, Sehwag wrote: “It’s 7th and here is my tribute to @msdhoni after he stepped down from limited overs captaincy….”

In his blog for crickettalkies.com, Sehwag wrote:

“Mahendra Singh Dhoni resigned as captain of the Indian One Day and T20I Team on 4th January. This has happened a few days earlier than I expected. 7 is his favourite number and I thought it was apt to wish him the very best going forward as a wicketkeeper batsman on the 7th.

His skills on the field as a player and captain are known to everyone , but he is a even better human being with a big big heart. It’s also fitting that he and the team played with names of their mother on the India Jersey in the last match he captained for India. I wish him all the very best in everything that he does.”
